Wystal Tree
-The Deity Tree- The tree looks like a Wysteria type but is made entirely of crystal with long trailing flowers, when the wind blows through them it creates a soft tinkling melody. Except for its fruit that grows along it's trunk! These fruits are dark with a pearlescent shine, and can be eaten. It's crystalline roots grow deep down into the earth and beyond, a cavern opens up that holds a large pond and all along the wall twines the roots of the tree that light up the cavern in a soft glow. Within the pond are Lotus and lilies with large lilypads, each with a shimmery tint to them. Within the Wystal tree dwells a metaphysical creature called 'The voice' which connects to every Deity as one. A 'Rah can journey here to ask deep personal questions and seek advice or even make prayer to the Deities as one. The Voice is a dragonoid-looking 'Rah that can take solid form outside of the tree. They can remain partially inside the tree with the head peeking out, or full body to sit on a crystalline throne that emerges from the tree trunk. If the 'Rah's question is more personal, they may be permitted to eat one of the berries, that dislodges from the trunk to be consumed. The 'Rah will experience an out of body sensation and commune personally with Deity spirit to spirit. This is a highly sacred ritual and is only for very special circumstances. Often for when a 'Rah is close to death and needs guidance on passing over. Or when a 'Rah feels that are struggling to find meaning in their life after trying many other things first. -This ritual does not cause death- If elderly the 'Rah will be accompanied by loved ones, but stay at a respectful distance during the ritual. Younger 'Rah will do this alone. |

If the request was genuine, it would be granted! The 'Rah would return home and that night would have a strange dream, of an entire life-time with a lover they did not know in the waking world. The dream connection would form a strong bond. Two weeks after the dream, that 'Rah would be pregnant Deity pregnancies were rare and only happened for a brief time after the end of the Great War. The young did not posses any special powers, but were of a gentler disposition than the previous generation. The 'Rah all over would become more connected to each other, including some unknowns who had been in hiding from fear. |

Wystal fruit
Fruit name: Ocaba These fruits are dark with a pearlescent shine, and can be eaten. Only eaten during the Ritual Cannot be removed from Trunk personally, only the Voice can do this If there are attempts to remove, the fruit either becomes solid and hard, or bursts into shimmering dust and quickly evaporates. The fruit when given permission to eat, is grape-like in consistency, and slightly sweet but not overpowering. It can also give temporary revitalization, so elderly 'Rah can get through the ritual and home without mishap. The Fruit used to be freely open to any to eat to help with ailments and sickness. But sadly it was abused during the great war to heal battle-wounds and extend the lives of brutal war generals. After the Deity intervention, access to the fruits was cut off, and with time the connection ritual was born. There are other trees in the kingdoms which also bare fruit on the trunks like the Wystal tree, but they do not have the Deity-connecting properties. They do however help assist a little in healing, but are not an all out cure for anything. These are thought to be a peace-gift from the Wystal tree to help post-war. The non Wystal tree Fruit is eaten raw or used to make jellies, jams, juice or wine. |
